This directory lists a selection of attractive traditional small campsites in France. All campsites listed offer the essential facilities required for campsites in France, including washing facilities and toilets; most  provide a lot more than the bare essentials.
   All campsites listed cater essentially for tents and caravans or camper vans, though many also have a limited number of fixed rental facilities, including wooden chalets, yurts, teepees and other glamping facilities.
    Most campsites listed here have under 60 pitches in all..... some have as few as six pitches, a few have over 60 pitches. Larger campsites are not necessarily less quiet, less intimate than smaller ones. Some large campsites extend over a considerable area.
   Many of the campsites listed are only open for part of the year, typically May to September, though often a bit longer for campsites in the south of France.
